How to measure your lifelines

Both sides of your lifelines will need to be measured as they are usually different.  Use a measuring tape that is long enough to measure the span between bow and stern pulpits.  Start at the bow with the tape on the bearing point of the pulpit eye.  The bearing point is the surface that the pin rests on inside the eye.  Run the tape down the side, outside of the stanchions, keeping it at the same height as the lifeline.  End at the bearing point of the eye that is at the stern.  Measurements should be to the nearest ¼ inch.

On each form there is a diagram that identifies each measurement that is required.  Select the form that represents your boat: no gate, aft gate, or mid-ship gate.

Please not that we cannot be responsible for errors made by you.  The most reliable way to ensure accurate measurement is to send us your old lifelines and we will do the measuring for you.  If you choose this option, it is important to include all fittings (turnbuckles, pelican hooks) in their original positions when the lifelines where on the boat.
